Inspired by a love of nature, travel, artist friends, vintage fashion and the hauntingly beautiful fragrances, sounds, textures and brilliant color of the changing of seasons, Violet Magpie was founded in Seattle in 2007.  Since forever, I’ve had a passion (ok, maybe kind of an obsession) for collecting one-off finds at flea markets, antique and thrift shops, estate sales and my grandmother’s pretty jewel box.  As a girl I loved hours spent on my grandma’s cozy bed with my sister trying on one sparkly trinket after another, eagerly checking out our transformed reflections in the mirror inside the lid.  The huge apple green daisy necklace with matching earrings, flowery scarves, gold filigree rings and bangles with colorful stones, and voluptuous pearl strands.  Vintage jewelry pieces sold through Violet Magpie are primarily treasures found as is.  Handmade hair ornaments are most often one of a kind or custom made, and include the loveliest of silk flowers, feathers, veiling, trim and vintage sparkle.  My hope is that those purchasing Violet Magpie pieces will feel wonderfully beautiful and comfortable as they rock and share one of a kind finds.  I welcome the opportunity to discuss creating custom pieces for weddings and special events, as well as accessorizing bridal parties with hair and jewelry ornaments sourced specifically for that special day!
